Baby Boomers: From Hero's to Zero's

In my opinion Baby Boomers generation is the most mistreated part of the population in our planet. Before you start getting upset with my previous statement let me explain you why.

These 77.7 million people gave a tremendous boost to the economy from the day they have been born. It was the greatest human source of wealth for the global economy. Been born after the 2^nd World War, they wanted peace, freedom and a better life style. 60’s and 70’s was all about peace on earth and core human values which were not expressed always with the most positive way I have to admit. Music and arts have known one of their finest moments in recent history with the Beatles, Queen, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Rainbow, Eagles, Elton John, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson etc. In early 80’s Baby Boomers had to forget all these about World Peace and Freedom and they had to fit to another role model which was the competitive corporate world. These new role models were over sold through TV Series with characters like JR, Joan Collins etc…The entire generation bought into that concept and they were starting to get in the “rat race” to win the money game. The plan was to get the most of this tremendous human source, to squeeze every drop of energy they had. Women also they had to forget the old concept of staying home, serving their husband and raising kids, and they had to go and conquer their financial freedom, by building a career; ending up to serve their husband, raise kids and chaise up success equally to men.

More than twenty years Baby Boomers were giving their own battle in the system fulfilling somebody else’s dreams (and pockets). Baby Boomers were paying their taxes, spending their income, paying their social security etc. The 21^st Century was carrying an unpleasant surprise for this generation. As there are not enough human resources to produce wealth in the speed was produced before, and early baby boomers they started retiring….the governments had to face the challenge how on earth they are going to find the money to pay all these retirees… They had to create a “Fast Money Making System” to produce wealth and cut down the losses….And voila….. The system was found but was not new….It was a concept that was going on for more than 60 years…and it was Network Marketing…But 60 years ago it was not beneficial for those who are handling the monopolies, somebody to join network marketing….so this business model was accused that was illegal, was a pyramid etc. But Network Marketing survived and produced the more millionaires than any other industry in the World. And that was the key factor for those who are designing our future to decide to bring back from behind Network Marketing and start heavily to promote it…Warren Buffet, Bill Clinton and Robert Kiyosaki are only few who they encourage the ordinary people to become extraordinary by getting involved in MLM. Don’t get me wrong…I believe in MLM as a business model…my question here is why now? And the answer is obvious… because now we need it…Now we need to create more wealth to give the money we owe to this generation that served us with loyalty for almost 60 years….How all these events affect baby boomers? A recent research has shown that the half of baby boomers generation will not be able to retire due to financial problems….So about 37 million people they need to continue working up the day they die….So once again this generation has to forget once again the old patterns and adopt a brand new entrepreneurship philosophy…. Let me count….every 20 years approximately, we have to wear a new suit….now from the competitive corporate business model, we have to adopt a “mother Tereza” attitude to help as many people as we can, while 10 years ago we had to “kill as many people as we could” to gain a big corner office….Do you know something? This is too much for us to digest….and don’t get me wrong I don’t have anything against network marketing or mother Tereza…But the bottom line is that I have the feeling that we have been cheated…. We have spend our entire lives to build a career, to build a financial stability and now we have to start again from scratch….We have to un learn once again everything we have been taught was the right thing to do and start all over again….And is not only that….I mentioned before that half of the Baby Boomers population will not be able to retire….the other half will retire in a pretty good financial shape…..Aha!! They have plans for them also….What do they want? Health products? We have! Travel and vacations? We have! New technologies? We have!!! We have everything you can imagine to continue emptying your pockets!!! But also we have pretty good suggestions like: “why it’s vital for your mental health to keep working” etc…. Do you get the picture now? I am not claiming that Baby Boomers generation did everything right…Not at all…I believe we are the generation made the most mistakes in human history…but also we have offered a lot….In Greece we have a saying: “Until you loose something you can’t appreciate it…” I believe that the globe will appreciate our generation when we will be a history….
